About Our Customer

The Ingersoll Rand Company is a global manufacturing firm, home to a growing family of some America’s most trusted consumer brands. Best known for its heavy industrial equipment, Ingersoll Rand also has ownership of Club Car golf cars, Schlage locks, and Thermo King temperature control equipment. Ingersoll Rand operates more than 80 manufacturing facilities worldwide, with annual revenues approaching $10 billion. With a tradition of technological innovation, Ingersoll Rand enables its customers to create progress.

Highlights

With 30 facilities and over 400 service technicians across the country, the logistics and expense of running a quality, consistent industrial safety training program had grown daunting for the folks at Ingersoll Rand. Recognizing that safety training was vital to the success of its recent workflow improvement initiatives, Ingersoll Rand began the search for a safety training solution that would not only bring the workforce into balance with regulatory requirements, but also create new efficiency in the training program, an area of the business where they had expected to uncover savings.

Problem

Organizing training, tracking it for completion, and staying current with regulatory requirements, was consuming far too much administrative time.

Solution

Vivid proposed moving Ingersoll’s segmented, inefficient safety training programs online. Through an initial pilot program involving the use of tablets, smartphones, and other digital devices, Vivid rolled out a branded training program that provides a uniform safety training experience for the entire Ingersoll Rand workforce.

Results

By moving to online safety training, Ingersoll Rand realized an estimated 30 % cost savings in the first year, partially by sharing the expense across business units.
